Jon “Bones” Bonar of Columbus, Ohio passed away suddenly on May 23, 2022 at the age of 56. He went to be with the Lord and was greeted by his mother Judy (Rataiczak) Bonar, grandmother Gertrude “Nana” Rataiczak, and nephew Jeffrey “Jarrin” Bonar.
Jon is survived by his beloved son Derek Bonar (fiancé Megan Dunphy), daughter Faith Bonar, Joseph Bonar (father), Jeffrey Bonar (brother), Jason Bonar and Sandi Eubank (brother/sister in-law), Joy Bonar (ex-wife/mother of children), Hattie and Tom Luikart (aunt/uncle), Jaden and Tony Bonar (nephews), and Parker Gregory (niece).
Jon was a 1984 graduate of Shadyside High School and graduated from Ohio University in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology. Proceeding his education, Jon worked for the same debt collection agency for 30+ years.
“Bones” loved the outdoors and adventuring with his friends and family. He was an avid motorcycle rider, camper, hunter, and white water rafter.
Jon was a loving father to his two wonderful children, who made him very proud.
Friends may call 4-6 pm on Friday June 3rd at the Egan Ryan Funeral Home 403 East Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio.
Jon’s church service will be held at the Bellaire Presbyterian Church on Saturday June 4th at noon. The burial will follow the service at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bellaire.
