John Robert Messineo, Jr., age 69 of Dublin, Ohio passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025 after a courageous battle with Myelofibrosis. John was a beloved and devoted husband, a cherished brother, cousin, nephew and friend. He was born on August 18, 1956 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Beverly Messineo. John was the oldest of three brothers. His early school years were spent in Pittsburgh and he attended high school in Northern California. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Ohio University in 1986. John was a Registered Professional Engineer in 16 states, including California, Michigan and Ohio. He belonged to several professional engineering organizations and served on several Boards and Commissions for the City of Dublin, Ohio.
He will be deeply missed by his wife and soulmate Gail, brothers Brad and Erik, father John and his wife Jane, Uncle Paul and Aunt Marie, sister-in-law Marilyn, and brother-in-laws Gary and Steven, as well as numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the Egan Ryan Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to honor John may be made Blood Cancer United, The Hope Lodge of Cleveland Ohio, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
