John Michael Nantz, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on January 26, 2025. He was born on May 13, 1947 in Cincinnati to the late Frank and Carolyn Nantz. John was a school psychologist for Columbus City Schools for over 35 years where he impacted the lives of countless children and their families, especially children with special needs. His happiest place was in the outdoors. John was a good, kind man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Martin and Frank Nantz; sister-in-law, Sally Ryan and brother-in-law, Jack Ryan. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 50 years, Mary Sue Nantz; children, Katie (Matt) Trippel and Michael Nantz; his beloved grandchildren, Olive and Ellis Trippel; sister, Carol Nantz; sisters-in-law, Linda Nantz, Colleen (Ralph) Miller, Amy (Jeff Bryner) Ryan, Patti (Kurt) Ringle and brother-in-law, David Hall; special nieces and nephews and friends. Friends may call Friday from 10am-12 noon at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street where a Funeral Service will begin at 12. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park. Please list John's name and Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park in the memo section.
