John A. Nunn, Jr.

John A. Nunn, Jr., age 75, of Columbus, entered into eternal rest Sunday, July 18, 2021. John was born in Marietta, Ohio, to the late John A. and Dorothy J. (Turrell) Nunn. John worked in the flooring business for his entire career, spending over 20 years with Southland Flooring and Carpet Supplies and later becoming the owner of Ohio-Remcon Abbey Carpet. He is preceded in death by brother, Ernest Nunn and sister, Patsy Lou “Pat” Norman. For many years, he shared his love of woodworking through his commitment to creating “props” for the drill teams (Groveport Cruiserettes) in which his daughters participated, in addition to many other beautiful handcrafted gifts which will be forever cherished. He enjoyed traveling (especially cruises) with his wife, Sudoku, reading, and volunteering at the NNEMAP Food Pantry. He was an active parishioner of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, serving as a greeter on many Sundays and always extending a welcoming hand during Mass to all in attendance.

John will be missed by his wife of 54 years, Joanna; daughters, Lori (Vincent) Maite and Sherri (Andrew) Clute; grandchildren, Elizabeth Maite, Charlotte Maite, Katherine Maite, Emma Clute, and Ian Clute; brother, Clifford D. (Patricia) Nunn and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street, Columbus, where a prayer service will begin at 6:45 p.m. celebrated by Reverend Mark Ghiloni.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Victorian Village, 386 Buttles Avenue.
