Jeanne Anne Hollern passed away on 10/14/2021. She was born on May 27, 1931, to Martin and Marie (Harold) Cahill. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Maureen (Chuck) Meck , Larry (Ruth) Hollern, Terry (Jan) Hollern, Kathi (Kim) Scovill , Paul (P. J.) Hollern and Ken Hollern, her brother Donald Cahill and sister Miriam (George) Spangler; her grandchildren: Jack (Alicia) Meck, Jeff (Emily) Meck, Claudia Hollern, Amanda Scovill, Douglas (Jessica) Hollern, MD , Madeline Hollern, Heather (Dan) Buttress, Stephanie (Greg) Melasecca, Chelsea (Bob) Forstrom and Colleen Hollern; her seven great-grandchildren plus in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Harry Hollern, her loving husband of forty-two years predeceased Jeanne as did six of her brothers Martin (Bud), Mike, Billy, Danny, Jimmy and Pat plus five of her sisters Mary Catherine Cornelius, Barbara Trout, Carolyn O’Reilly, Nancy Linson and Dorothy Zabonic. Jeanne Hollern was a proud graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1949. Shortly after graduation she married and started a family. She remained a wife, mother and homemaker until the late 1960’s when she started to work outside the home. Jeanne joined Chase bank where she worked as a credit card fraud investigator until her retirement in 1993. During the next three decades Jeanne spent time travelling (Alaska, Ireland, Belgium), visiting with her family in New York, New Jersey, Texas, Delaware and Florida. Her hobbies included playing cards, reading and working jigsaw puzzles. Jeanne began creating art works using Bunka, a style of Japanese Silk Punch Embroidery. She received acknowledgment of the superiority of her work by the bestowing of multiple ribbons at the Ohio State Fair. Jeanne was a long-time member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Worthington, Ohio. The family will receive visitors at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. Broad St. Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday 10/20/2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Mass of Resurrection on Thursday 10/21/2021 at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Church, 584 West Broad Street in Columbus, Ohio followed by Internment at Saint Joseph Cemetery 6440 High Street in Lockbourne, Ohio.
