Jason Lee Wolfe, 50, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 13th.
Jason was born in East Liverpool, Ohio, and made his home in Columbus after attending The Ohio State University. Anyone who knew Jason knew, above all, his deep love for Kendal and Gavin, family, Becky, and his many friends.
Jason built a long and successful career as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial, where he dedicated 25 years to helping others, along with his trusted friend and business partner, Mike Derflinger. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his clients—always willing to take a call, offer guidance, and care for them not only professionally but personally.
His passions included OSU and Steelers football, a deep appreciation for nature and animals, kayaking, fishing, gourmet cooking, fireworks, and birding—an interest he shared with his mom and sister. Jason’s sense of humor, creative nicknames, dry wit, and respect for the military and first responders will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Jason leaves behind the love of his life and best friend, Becky Murphy, with whom he shared his heart and plans for marriage; his beloved children, Kendal and Gavin Wolfe who were his world; and his stepdaughter, Abby Murphy. He is also survived by his parents, Robert and Sherry Wolfe; sister Melissa and brother-in-law Chris Gass; nephews Adam and Grayson Gass; grandmother Margaret Wolfe; Aunt Linda Lioi, Uncle Wayne and Erica Riggle, Aunt Diane Thorn, Uncle Dick and Aunt Sharon Wolfe, Uncle Randy and Cindy Wolfe, and many cousins. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by Gwen, Joan, and Fred Ritchey, and the Ritchey, Bouscher, and Taylor families.
He is now reunited with his Papap William Wolfe, Grandma Donna Riggle, and Uncle Nick Lioi, and Uncle Bill Thorn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19th, at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 4661 Kenny Rd., Columbus, OH 43220. Calling hours will take place from 2:00–4:00 p.m., with a service honoring Jason—filled with stories, laughter, and cherished memories—immediately following. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating Jason’s life and sharing their favorite memories.
