James W. "Jim" Mascari, Sr.

James W. “Jim” Mascari, Sr. age 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2021 surrounded by his caring family. Jim was born November 10, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Agostino and Lucia (Mangia) Mascari.

Jim retired from Central Ohio Travel Authority (COTA) in 1989. He also enjoyed motorcycles working in his vegetable garden and spending time with his large family.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine Mascari; six sons, Joseph Mascari, Michael (Toni) Mascari, James (Julie) Mascari, Jr., John (Tami) Mascari, Steven Mascari, Mark (Mary) Mascari; numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Mascari (2005); two sons, Anthony Mascari and Phillip Mascari; two grandsons, Anthony Mascari and James Mascari III; and a daughter-in-law, Beverly Mascari.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to the Humane Society of your choice for his love of all animals.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 22, at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 1573 Elaine Road, Columbus. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
