A ray of sunshine, Jaclyn (Jackie) Sunday’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death. Jackie passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 36 after multiple health issues that ended with a blood clot complication at Mount Carmel East Hospital.
Born on June 19, 1986, in Columbus, Ohio to Nicholas and Noreen (Derr) Sunday. Jackie attended Bishop Hartley High School in Columbus, Ohio and went on to graduate from Virtual Community School of Ohio in 2005. She took pride in caring for her family and friends but most of all her nephews, her passion was her family.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jackie. She loved a quiet evening at home watching murder mystery shows whether it was alone or with friends. Her pleasant personality was infectious to everyone she met, and her beautiful smile would light up a room. Jackie did not know a stranger and even the first time she met you she would hug you like you have been a friend for years. No matter what was going on in her life she always had a smile on her face and made the people around her feel needed. She cared more about her family and friends than she did herself and her positive energy was always contagious.
Jackie is survived by her parents, Nicholas and Noreen (Derr) Sunday; aunt, Kathleen Reed; sister, Angela (Curtis) Jewell; brothers, Matthew (Laura) Sunday and Michael Sunday; nephews, Isaiah Sunday, Colton and Cameron Jewell and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles and Catherine (McCarthy) Derr and Donald and Bessie (Carribites) Sunday.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 PM Wednesday, April 5 at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home 403 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215 with service to follow at 6 PM.
In lieu of flowers, Jackie would have wanted her family and friends to donate to the Dementia Society of America for her mother, https://dementiasociety.charityproud.org/donate.
