Gregory Gillespie Obituary

Gregory Robert Gillespie, loving son, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, passed away on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at the age of 62. He was born September 15th, 1959 in Columbus, Ohio. He was a graduate of Eastmoor High School and life-long resident of Columbus.

Greg is preceded in death by his loving mother Stephani Gillespie and stepfather Stefan Juncewicz and godparents Don and Helena Krystek. Greg is survived by his daughter Tiffany Hunter; Son Gregory Gillispie; Mother of his children Becky; Son-in-law Eamon Hunter; “Pawpaw” to grandsons Aiden and Jackson Hunter. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews as well as a brother-in-law to members of the Durthaler family.

If you knew Greg, you knew his three passions in life were the love he had for his children and grandchildren, making his yard the best looking on the block, and having cars so clean that you could see your reflection. Greg had the biggest heart along with a sense of humor and a smile that was contagious and could light up a room. He was loved not only by his immediate family, but also his many close friends from coast to coast and his co-workers at COTA. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorial gathering will be held for friends and family on Friday, June 10th from 4pm to 7pm at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E. Broad Street. Service will be held at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S High Street on Saturday, June 11th at 10:30am.
