Glendon “Joe” Haywood, age 73, passed away on January 24, 2024 after a long illness. He was born in Columbus on July 5, 1950 to the late Glendon J. and Thelma L. Haywood. Vietnam War Veteran. Joe and George lived in Dallas, Texas for 25 years where he was a business owner. He trained and retired as a barber in Columbus. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ruth Newberry, Joyce Crawford, Archie Haywood, Linda Reis, Sharon Weber, Rosa Young, Millard Haywood and Mary Ross. Survived by his husband of 46 years, George Rivera; siblings, Wanda Six, Dennis (Debbie) Haywood and Martha Fannin; many nieces and nephews who he loved very much. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Livingston United Methodist Church, 200 East Livingston Avenue. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
