George Robert Gerdeman, age 74, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2026, after a long illness.
George grew up in Delphos, Ohio, one of nine children of the late Walter and Esther (Mueller) Gerdeman. He enjoyed a long career as a civil engineer, later serving as an information technology manager before retiring. George was a man of strong Catholic faith and a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, with whom he shared 52 years of loving marriage; his beloved children, Julia (Steven), Katharine (Scott), Matthew, Aaron (Tricia), and Maria; and his beautiful grandchildren, Corinne, Grace, Norah, Luke, Simon, Anna, Grant, Jonathan, and John, all of whom will dearly miss their Opa.
Friends may call Friday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Central Chapel, 403 E. Broad St., where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew the Apostle Church, with burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St.
