George “Chris” Lape, age 63, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2022 at home with his family by his side. Served his country in the US Army National Guard for many years. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Church and the Knights of Columbus. Chris enjoyed coaching the West Mound Stars football teams for many years Also coached T Ball and softball teams at St. Mary Magdalene.
Preceded in death by his parents George & Helen Lape; sisters Kathy and Terri Lape. Survived by his wife Sandy; children Andrea (Joe) Nelson, Erin (Aaron) O’Donovan, Scott (Amanda Locke) Lape, Whitney Lape and Lindsay (Josh Medina) Lape; grandchildren Brianna, Lauren, Henry, Andrew, Hayli, Hannah and Nathan, great-grandchild, True; sister Peggy Lape; brothers John (Becky), Jim (Heike), Tim, Pat and Marty Lape; numerous other relatives and friends including his best furry friend Kiki. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Magdalene Church 473 S. Roys Ave. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in his memory to Capital City Hospice.
