Gary Creed White, 93, of Columbus, departed this life on Monday, June 15, 2026. He was born on February 27, 1933, in Charleston, West Virginia, the beloved son of the late James E. White and Camella (Field) White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mitzi Orcutt and Arlene Bollinger; his brother, James Lewis White; his daughter, Laura (White) Price; and his son, Gary Alan White.
Gary enjoyed a long career with Libbey Owens Ford Glass in Charleston, a role that also took him to Illinois and California. Following his retirement, he lived in Florence, Kentucky, and Okeechobee, Florida, before ultimately settling in Columbus, Ohio. It was in Columbus that he discovered his faith in Jesus Christ, guided by the fellowship of his good friends, Bob Graham and Jet Hawthorne, at Dwell Community Church. Through God’s Spirit, his heart was transformed, allowing him to love and connect with people in profound new ways during his final years.
He is survived by his children, Bill (Janet) White, Mike (Sharla) White, and Karen (Gerard) Volker; his grandchildren, Scott White, Billy J. White, Sandra (Alec) Baird, Danielle (Andrew) Grier, Morgan (Derek) Evans, and Gabriella (Maxwell) Miller; as well as many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his longtime family friend, Jimmy Williams.
A memorial service will be held at Dwell Community Church,1340 Community Park Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229 on Tuesday, June 23 at noon.
