Gary Hickfang, 66, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2026. Born on October 9, 1959, Gary made Columbus his home, while spending countless cherished memories at his lake house at Indian Lake — a place that brought him so much joy. Gary never met a stranger. He loved and was loved by all. He always made everyone in the room feel important. He grew new friendships while maintaining friendships of 50+ years, a true testament to the incredible man he was. Gary was a proud grandfather to his two granddaughters, who brought immeasurable happiness to his life and whom he adored spending time with. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Gary was a devoted husband to his best friend and loving wife, Janie Hickfang, and a proud father to his son, Max Hickfang, and daughter, Morgan Thompson, wife of Jared Thompson. Also survived by his brother, Chase Hickfang, and sister, Carrie Lee Hickfang, and nephew Tim Hickfang.
