Florence Mary Shama

Florence Mary Shama, age 95, Monday March 24, 2025.  Born May 5, 1929, to Frank and Lottie Reska in Cleveland, Ohio.  Graduate of Parma Schaaf High School in 1947. Attended Bowling Green State University.  Florence had a long, successful business career for over 30 years and retired from CompuServe as Manager of Real Estate and Purchasing.  A proud cancer survivor, she demonstrated remarkable strength and resilience throughout her life.  She was an avid reader and also committed to physical fitness, enjoying regular swimming sessions at McConnell Heart Health Center.  Flo was an enthusiastic fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and all Cleveland sports teams, with a special fondness for the Cleveland Indians, for whom she kept a scrapbook dedicated to their 1948 championship season.  Longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and the Upper Arlington Senior Center where she served on the Senior Advisory Council for many years, including as president and vice-president.  She also  volunteered teaching computer skills at the Senior Center. She seized opportunities to travel to many countries with her grandsons, daughter, and friends.  Survived by daughter Christine (Richard) Tilton of Columbus, and son Dale Shama of Lanham, MD; grandchildren Benjamin (Megan) Tilton of New York City and Thomas Tilton of Washington, DC; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 KENNY RD.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday 10:00 am at St. Andrew Church. 1899 McCoy Rd.  Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
