Evelyn Moylan, OPA, an Associate of the Dominican Sisters of Peace died peacefully at the Mohun Health Care Center on Wednesday, October 3, 2024. She was born in Bayonne, NJ on July 22, 1929, but spent most of her life in New York City, NY. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. Mary of the Springs College, now Ohio Dominican University. Evelyn was a teacher for forty-four years. She loved teaching and taught in PA, NY, OH and NM. When she retired from teaching she worked in Columbia University’s Housing Department. Evelyn lived for almost 50 years at Cathedral Parkway Towers on the Upper West Side of New York City. She felt blessed for her years spent there. She found it to be a very special community and loved the people there.Evelyn also treasured her twenty-five years as a Dominican Sister of St. Mary of the Springs now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She was predeceased by her parents James Richard Moylan and her mother, Evelyn Alicia Wright Moylan as well as by her brother, James Richard Moylan. The funeral Liturgy will be private taking place in the Mohun Health Care Chapel, October 15, 2024, followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Columbus, OH by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home.
