Emily Carmean Jarrett, known affectionately as Emily, passed away on April 24, 2026, in Stuart, Florida, after a courageous battle with cancer of unknown regions. She was 91 years old. Born on November 25, 1934, in Chillicothe, Ohio, Emily lived a long and meaningful life marked by resilience, and devotion to the people and places she loved.Emily was a woman of quiet strength and steady kindness, and she carried herself with warmth that made others feel welcome in her presence. She was deeply rooted in her values and was known for her thoughtful nature, her gentle humor, and her ability to bring comfort to those around her. Throughout her life, she met each season with dignity and determination, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Raised in Ohio, Emily developed an enduring appreciation for hard work, family, and community. Those early years helped shape the character that would define her throughout her life. She understood the importance of perseverance and took pride in a strong work ethic. Whether through her daily routines, her relationships, or her many acts of care for others, she lived with purpose and sincerity. Emily treasured connection and was a loyal friend to many. She had a generous spirit and her presence offered reassurance, and her words often carried wisdom that came from life experience in the medical field. She was the kind of person who remembered details, noticed when someone needed encouragement, and responded with kindness without seeking recognition. Though her passing leaves a profound emptiness, her life leaves behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and quiet grace. Emily Carmean Jarrett will be remembered with affection and respect, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her. Emily is preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen Carmean, sister, Cindy Immell, son James Michael Jarrett 3 days before her death. Emily is succeeded by her daughter Roni Scammell, h. Rick, son Stephen V. Jarrett, grandchildren Danielle Harley, Rikki Leake, Sarah and Stephen Jarrett, great grandson, Paxton and Nash Harley. Calling hours are scheduled for Emily and her son James on June 25, 2026 at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home from 11:00-1:00, 4661 Kenny Rd Columbus, OH 43220. A gravesite family burial will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery in Chillecothe, OH.
