Elizabeth "Betty" Heath Obituary

Elizabeth Colleen (Dunn) Heath, “Betty”, died on May 20, 2021 after a long illness. She was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on August 5, 1925. She graduated from Butler High School and then completed nursing studies at Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Erie, Pennsylvania. She worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement.

While in Pennsylvania, she married Gerald Paul Heath in 1947. They moved to Columbus, Ohio shortly thereafter. They had five children. “Jerry” died in 2001.

Betty was an active member of Saint Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church, 1573 Elaine Road, Columbus, Ohio 43227. She was a volunteer with their food pantry and Ladies Auxiliary until her illness.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, three siblings and her husband. She is survived by her five children, Patricia (Jeffrey) Schroeder, Linda Scott, Richard (Dawn) Heath, Michael Heath and Theresa Campbell. She leaves seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

There will be no visiting hours. A private burial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Egan-Ryan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name can be made to the Heartland Hospice, 116 Morris Road, Suite C, Circleville, Ohio 43113.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the exemplary services of the Hospice team assigned to Betty’s care. They were all compassionate and caring individuals who deserve the highest praise. The mere words “thank you” is not nearly enough.
