Elaine Marie Reardon

Elaine Marie Reardon, 60, of Upper Arlington, OH passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 surrounded by family after courageously fighting an extended illness. She was born on September 20, 1962 in Fremont, OH to Daniel L. and Dolores M. (Sanford) Reardon. Elaine grew up in Fremont, a graduate of Saint Ann Elementary and Fremont Ross High School class of 1980. She worked at Richard’s Clothing store while attending high school. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in Columbus. She also earned her CPA certification. She was a Finance Director/Controller for over 30 years at several hospital systems in Columbus. Gifted at most everything she pursued, she especially loved gardening, cooking, and decorating. Generous and kind, she enjoyed sharing her creative talents with those she loved. She was an avid reader and traveler. She had an adventurous spirit, having traveled to several countries in Europe and cruising the Caribbean. Most of all she was a loving mother, daughter, sister, friend, and will be greatly missed. Elaine is survived by her loving son, Alex Lechner (Inessa), Waterford, MI; mother, Dolores Reardon, Fremont, OH; sisters, Kathy (Bernie) Bertulies, Medina, OH, Jeanne (Mark) Root, Bowling Green, OH, JoAnn (Ken) Schafer, Carmel, IN, Teresa (Steve) Sweeney, Powell, OH; brother, Tim (Elizabeth) Reardon, Ellicott City, MD; nieces and nephews, Eric Bertulies, Samantha (Mike) Orange, Jessica Root, Amanda and Owen Schafer, Jack Sweeney and William Reardon; many relatives, close friends, and her beloved dog, Teddie. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Reardon and her special dog, Roxie. The family would like to extend appreciation to Riverside Methodist Hospital and Kobacker House for the exceptional care and support. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, followed by a memorial service at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road, Columbus, OH.  A Celebration of Life will take place this summer on Catawba Island, where she enjoyed walking the beach and collecting stones. In lieu of flowers, please consider doing a random act of kindness in her memory.
