Eileen M. Kaltenecker, age 96, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on January 14, 2024. Eileen was born on September 3, 1927, to the late John Mazza and Isabelle (Vaglietti) Mazza. She grew up in Bridgeville, PA and graduated from Bridgeville High School in the class of 1945. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, George J. Kaltenecker. After she married George, they eventually settled in Bexley, OH, in 1965, where she would spend the rest of her life. She is survived by her only sibling, Jeannine Nightingale of Key Largo, FL. and her six children and their spouses, Gail (Mark) Schmitt, James Kaltenecker, Thomas Kaltenecker, Mark (Jacqueline) Kaltenecker, Lisa (Bryan Holbrook) Kaltenecker, and Paul (Lori) Kaltenecker, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Upon settling in Bexley, she became an active member of St. Catharine Parish, singing in the choir and participating in fund-raising activities. Eileen worked alongside George in his accounting business and long after his passing continued to do so with her daughter Lisa. Eileen and George were active members of and held various officer positions in the Harmony Glee Club. Eileen always had a special place in her heart for her dogs. Her companion golden, Harley, is lost without her. Eileen knew no strangers—she always welcomed friends and family into her home, especially if they would listen to any of her many stories or the latest updates on her grandchildren. Her kind and loving spirit will be missed. Family and friends will be received Sunday, January 21, 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. with a Rosary/Vigil Service held at 3:30 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street. A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday, January 22, at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 500 S. Gould Road. The Mass will also be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/@StCatharineChurch/streams. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Catharine Church, a local animal shelter, or the ASPCA.
