Edgar Heinbach Obituary

Edgar (Ned) L. Heinbach passed away on January 22, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 89 after a short hospitalization and illness.

Ned was born in Pottsville, PA on October 18, 1935.  He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jennie, sister Lee Elliott, children Brad (Lynn) Heinbach, Helen (Mark) Hogan, adored grandchildren Kathleen (Kearstin Williams) Heinbach, Elizabeth (Stephen Pair) Heinbach, Luke (Eve) Hogan, and Hailey Hogan, brother in law and great friend Howard ( Pat) Lawrence, and beloved nieces and nephews David (Stacy Mazzalupo) Elliott, Donald (Rosalva) Elliott and their son Maxim, Coleman (Karol) Lawrence, Andrew (Irby) Lawrence, Maria ( David) Lawrence, and their children.  

Coming from humble means, Ned graduated from Cressona High School, Penn State University and received his MBA from Drexel University.  Ned had a long career at General Electric starting in the Missile and Space Division.  He had several years at Waste Management as Chief Information Officer.  Then Ned spent 10 years and retired from Information Resources Incorporated where he was VP of Information Systems.  Ned was a pioneer of computer systems integration, and his thoughtful, forward thinking, and kind leadership made him invaluable to his employers and employees alike.

Ned loved his family, traveling, friends, gardening, music, and Penn State.  His outgoing and caring nature brought a host of friends who loved his company, intellect, sense of humor and insight.

Ned was a veteran of the US Army.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, Penn State University, or Fairview Cemetery Association in Buchanan, Virginia.
