Dr. Roderick Lee Fuller was born February 28, 1936 at Dumfries, Virginia. He died January 15, 2023 in Columbus, Ohio.
A loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, he received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1961 from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and was in private practice on the Hilltop area of Columbus for thirty-six years before his retirement. He served on the clinical faculty at The Ohio State University in the Departments of Medicine and Surgery for thirty years. He was a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in the 2nd Bn, 8th Marine Regiment prior to attending The Ohio State University for premedical studies.
He was an avid golfer and spent many happy hours on the courses as a member of OSU Golf Club.
He loved gardening and being a grandfather to his wonderful grandchildren.
He was a long-time member and past president of the Hilltop Lions Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Martha, his son Dr. John Fuller of Apex, North Carolina, his daughters Mary (Mark) Swisshelm of Columbus, Ellen (Brian) Perera of Upper Arlington, sisters Carol Kruntorad of Columbus, Kathy (Robert) Bright of Grove City, grandsons Joseph Ferretti and James Perera, and granddaughter Jane Perera. Predeceased by parents Earl K. Fuller and Crystal Fuller Dodge, and brother Donald K. Fuller.
