Douglas Brown Belmonte, age 91, Monday April 9, 2018 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born May 18, 1926 in New York City where he was raised in St. John’s orphanage. Veteran U.S. Army WWII. Longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church where he retired as caretaker after many years. Resident of Franklinton for over 50 years. Preceded in death by parents Vito and Anna Velluzzi Belmonte; 10 siblings; wife Margaret Weiner Belmonte and long time friend Msgr. Francis X. Schweitzer. Survived by wife Mary Rita Clifford Belmonte; children Kathy (Rick) Bruno, Theresa (Russell) Brill, Mary (William) Albright, Joseph Belmonte, Christopher Belmonte, Annette (Jeff) Myers, Gregory (Deanna) Belmonte, Teresa (Rick) Yenger, Kimberly Ellis-Lloyd and Scott Anthony (Amy) Ellis; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grand daughter; sisters-in-law (Little) Jackie Weiner, (Big) Jackie Weiner, Jean Weiner, Barbara Ellis and Carol Young; many nieces, nephews and friends. Friends may call Thursday 4-8 p.m.at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 584 W. Broad ST. Burial Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
