Dewayne L. Cox, age 86, passed away peacefully at home on March 3, 2026. He was born on August 21, 1939 in Coldwater, Michigan to the late Alford and Jennie Cox. Graduate from Coldwater High School. Veteran of United States Navy. Retired from IBM after 30 years of employment. Avid Michigan State fan. Member of Christ the King Church for many years before moving to Raleigh, NC for work and upon his return was a member of St. Paul Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Cox; siblings, Vivian, Eugene, Edith, Otis, Leroy and Marylou. He is survived by his daughter, Amy (Tony) Martin; grandchildren (who affectionately called him Coocaw), Matthew, John and Maggie; brother-in-law, Doug (Sue) Brandle; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 pm at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 am at St. Paul Church, 313 North State Street, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30. Private burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, OH at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, 313 North State Street, Westerville, Ohio 43082.
