Dennis Arthur Flaherty

Dennis Arthur Flaherty, age 87, passed away peacefully Friday, May 23, 2025, at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. He was born July 19, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, the first of six sons of Nora Corrigan Flaherty and Patrick Aloysius Flaherty. After graduating from St. Ignatius High School in 1955, he received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from John Carroll University in 1959. Following his service in the United States Army, he continued his work as a Mathematician for the Federal Government at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Aberdeen, Maryland, until his retirement.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers Patrick, Brian and Michael. Surviving are brothers Kevin (Ann) of Columbus and Thomas (Robin) of Asheville, NC, nephews Brendan (Mica), Shawn, Daniel (Jean), Trevor, and niece Eileen (Joe) Bline all of Columbus. Also survived by Grandnephews Joseph and Jack Flaherty, Steven and Aaron Bline and Dylan Flaherty. Grandnieces Emily Flaherty, Ren Bline and Morgan Flaherty. Dennis enjoyed Classical music, especially Bach, his daily Wall Street Journal and had a large collection of History Books.
