On March 2, 2025, David Alan Payne passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 75. David was a quiet man with a kind and gentle heart. David retired after 36 years from Nickles Bakery as head checker. David is preceded in death by his parents Earl and RoseAnn Payne, wife of 41 years Pamela N. Payne, son David Alan Payne Jr., daughter Sherry Jean Payne, sisters Debra Dalton and Connie Charles. David is survived by his grandchildren Joseph Mace, Cassidy Payne, Nathan Payne and great-grandson Ryder McGrath, brother George (Bev) Payne, sister Sherry Jo Candish, daughter-in-law Heidi Payne and many nieces and nephews. David will be remembered as a man who loved his family, Christmas, Hallmark Christmas movies, his pets throughout his lifetime and his Great Dane, Peaches Marmalade. Friends may call Sunday, March 9 from 2-5 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 South High Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to Halifax Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
