David Wood, 72, passed away on Wednesday Sept. 23 2020 at Monterey Care Center in Grove City after a long illness.
A 1966 graduate of Logan High School in Logan, Ohio. He attended Otterbein University where he studied history and government, and developed friendships with fellow students that lasted his entire life. As a result, he was pivotal in the formation of the Friends of Clarice Burton, a group of alumni who have met annually for over 47 years, and supported the creation of an endowed scholarship fund to benefit future Otterbein students.
For many years he worked for Buckeye Nissan in new car sales, founded his own vehicle leasing agency, then enjoyed a career with Nationwide Insurance from which he retired in 2015.
David is preceded in death by his parents William and Lulu Heckathorn Wood, and sisters Sandra and Patricia Wood. He is survived by his brother Larry (Enid) Wood of Eureka, MT, sons Corbin (Karen) Wood of Grove City, OH and Jeb (Georgena Senior) Wood of Philadelphia, PA. He has four grandchildren Emily, Kamryn, Gigi, Malachy. He also had many special friends.
