David Paul Baumann, age 68, passed away July 3, 2021, near his residence in Lancaster, California. Born October 15, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents Dorothy A. (Berendt) and William A. Baumann. In 1970, David graduated from Bexley High School also receiving Welding Certificate of Achievement - Ohio Trade and Industrial Service Division. In childhood, he started learning the plumbing trade, Bill Baumann Sons, leading to his own business as a licensed Master Plumber. In 1993, he located to California. He crossed the paths of many, sharing his devotion to Jesus by playing his guitar, composing songs, singing and leading Praise and Worship—witnessing the words he said God gave him in his dreams. By 2000, he was blessed and committed to Sommer Haven International Ministries helping with plumbing, food distribution and general handy-man maintenance at facility—helping the homeless and rehabilitation. His life’s loves—God, his children and music. He wrote many poems based on his life, too.
Predeceased by his father, William ‘Bill’ Alfred Baumann and brother, Michael ‘Mike’ William Baumann. Also, Maternal Grandparents, Henrietta ‘Nettie’ C. (Wittman) and Paul Berendt, and Great-Grandparents, Anna Catherine (Walters) and Andrew ‘Andy’ Wittman and Paternal Grandparents, Ellen (Fitzmartin) and Alfred ‘Fritz’ C. Baumann and Great-Grandparents, Anna (Herderick) and Edward Baumann.
Survived by mother, Dorothy A. Barnes, sisters Leslie Barnes (Robert Bingham) of Oceanside, California and Kathy Daft of Columbus, his children: David and Kristen of Columbus, Ohio and oldest daughter, Carol, grandchildren: Alexis and Aidan ‘A.J’ of Frazeysburg, Ohio, nieces and nephews: Matthew (Jennifer) Baumann, Jordan Baumann, Shelly (Adam) Crossley, Stephanie Cook and Jimmy Daft, Great- nieces and nephews: Isabella, Abigail, Alexander, Caleb, Sophia, Alexandra, Cadence, Chloe and Connor, aunts and uncles: Carol (Jim) Perkins, Nancy Mizesko and Kenneth ‘Rick’ (Nancy) Baumann and an abundant number of cousins.
Friends and family may call Sunday, July 18, 2-4 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTWEST CHAPEL, 4661 Kenny Rd, followed by Pastor Daniel Bell officiating a 4p.m. Service and sharing memories. On Monday, July 19, 12 p.m. all will meet at the funeral home to proceed to St. Joseph Cemetery for a 1:00 pm interment.
