Catherine Breen Obituary

Catherine M. Breen died peacefully and gracefully on Thursday, March 26,2020 at the age of 98 with
a family member and wonderful caregivers at her side. She was a resident of The Abbington of
Arlington Assisted Living for five years.

Catherine was born in Somerville, MA. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and was
employed by the Boston & Main Railroad until retirement. She was active volunteer at St. Catherine
of Genoa Catholic Church and at the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Memorial Hospital for physically disabled
children in Brighton, MA; currently known as the Franciscan Hospital for Children. She later moved to
Arlington, MA where she lived for 60 years and was a member of the choir and other groups at St.
Agnes Catholic Church before and during retirement. Catherine eventually moved to Upper Arlington,
OH in 2011 to reside with her brother Paul and family. She became a. resident of The Abbington of
Arlington in 2015.

Catherine enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends. She cherished every
milestone occasion that she was invited to and was known to remember every single detail. She was
the consummate storyteller, being the keeper of the family history, memories and connections. There
wasn't an occasion that she missed and everyone looked forward to receiving her cards in the mail.
She was an extremely gracious and loving person who was devoted to her faith and family. She
greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word.

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Rose Breen and her brother Walter
Breen. She is survived by her brothers Anthony A. Breen Jr. and his wife Ruth of Somerville MA and
Paul Breen of Upper Arlington, OH and his wife Maureen along with many nieces and nephews. In
lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society at St. Andrew Catholic
Church 1899 Mc Coy Road Columbus, OH 43220.
