Betty Menear

Betty Menear, age 90, passed away July 6, 2025 at Wesley Glen.  She was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 1, 1934 to the late Charles and Louise Giles.  Betty is the oldest of six siblings.  She was a member of North Broadway United Methodist Church for over 60 years where she was an active volunteer and was also president of United Methodist Women.  She was a volunteer for the Ohio History Museum for 49 years.  Betty was a member of Wednesday Literary Club at Scioto Country Club.  She was President of Charter Story League for many years.  She was an usher for both Palace Theatre and Ohio Theatre.   She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Burns, son, Bradleigh Burns; husband James Menear; son-in-law, Kevin O’Neill; sister, Euvonne McCraw; brothers, Jerry Giles and Randy Giles.  She is survived by daughter, Bonnie O’Neill; stepdaughter, Christy Putnam; brothers, Neal (Sally) Giles and Doug Giles.  A private burial will take place at Smith’s Chapel in Beverly, Ohio.
