Bernadette Marie (Liedigk) Schalk

Bernadette Marie (Liedigk) Schalk, age 77, passed away on Monday, April 4, in Maryville, Tennessee.  She was born in Rossford, Ohio, and met her husband, Larry, in northwest Ohio. They married on November 27, 1965, and raised their family in Central Ohio. Bernadette worked as a registered nurse for several years in Columbus. She resided in eastern Tennessee since 2000 and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by her many family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Louise Liedigk, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Linus and Berneda Schalk, and her son, Matthew Jude Schalk. She is survived by her husband, Larry; her siblings, Theresa (Mike) Scott and Bernard (Gloria) Liedigk; her children, Brian Schalk, Marty Pack, Missy (Bill) Pope, Chris Schalk, and Father David Schalk; her ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Columbus (2777 E. Livingston Ave., 43209) on Saturday, April 9, at 9am. A funeral Mass will then be celebrated at 10am, with burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery to follow. For those in Tennessee, a memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (858 Louisville Rd., Alcoa, TN 37701) on Monday, April 18, at 12pm.
