Barbara Ellen Ritchey

Barbara Ellen Ritchey, age 88, Wednesday August 9, 2023.  Barbara was a devoted Benedictine Oblate of St. Meinrad Archabbey. Barbara graduated at age 64 from Ohio Dominican University with two degrees and then received her Masters degree in Theology from St. Meinrad.  Former member of St. Pius X Parish in Reynoldsburg and current member of St. Joseph Cathedral, where she was baptized and married.  Preceded in death by her husband Ralph F. Ritchey and son Victor A. Ritchey.  Survived by children Gerard (Tracy) Ritchey, Christine (Ken Rothman) Conover, Denise Ritchey, Ralph G. Ritchey, Monica (Todd Blank) Herron, and Marian (Mark Maines) Ritchey; grandchildren Christopher, Cassidy, Averelle, Restyn, Ashley, Alicia, Rebecca, Seth, Cherise, Drew, Zach, and Aiden;  10 great grandchildren; brother Neil Kessler; sisters-in-law Betty (Terry) Caldwell, Mary Jo Weekly, and Sr. Christella Ritchey, OSF; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Friends may call Friday August 18, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E. Broad St. where a Celebration of Life will be held at 7:30 p.m.   Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday August 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad St.  Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.    Friends who wish may contribute in Barbara’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
