Barbara L. Galvin

Barbara L. “Barb” Galvin, age 70, passed away on Saturday, April 20 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania on November 24, 1953 to the late Arnold L. and Nora A. (Nee) Woods.

Barbara was strong in her Christian faith throughout her battle with cancer. Her last years were spent enjoying her retirement and being well cared for at home. She worked for several years caring for children in her home and was also employed by The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University. Barb enjoyed sewing, knitting, crochet, crafts, selling various book designs. 

She was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Nora Woods; a sister, Virginia Leiter; a brother, Mark Woods; and aunt, Barbara Nee. She is survived by two sons, Daniel Galvin and Anthony Galvin; a sister, Mary Woods; a brother, John "Woody" Woods (Jill); a brother in law, Jim Leiter; ex-husband, Dave Galvin; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25 at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Road. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery.

Friends and relatives may call from 4–7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24 at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to St. Jude's Hospital, Post Office Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101 or to a charity of your choice.
