Barbara Dusterberg

Barbara (Barb) Dusterberg, 86, of Clintonville, OH, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, at Dublin Methodist Hospital.

Barb was the only child of Charles Carroll and Ida (Schell) Carroll. Charles passed away in 1976, and Ida in 1995.

Barb met her husband, Bob ("Dusty"), during grade school, and they were married in 1961. They treasured their time spent traveling the world, especially their cruises to new destinations. When Dusty navigated the long and difficult road of his disability, Barb stood steadfastly by his side as a dedicated caregiver and constant supporter, helping him through numerous therapies with unwavering love. Dusty passed away in 2020.

A proud 1961 graduate of the Mount Carmel School of Nursing, Barb cherished getting together with her classmates every month until it became too difficult to attend. The lifelong bond with her friends and her time at Mount Carmel remained an important part of who she was. She found great fulfillment working with her patients at both Harding Hospital and the OSU Psychiatric Hospital.

Barb and Dusty raised four children together. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Kathy (Dusterberg) Rauschenbach in 2007, and Beth (Dusterberg) Bolin in 2026. Barb is survived by her son, Bob Dusterberg, and his wife, Stacie; and her son, Mike, and his wife, Heather.

Barb was fiercely proud of her family and found immense happiness in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Amanda; Michael and his wife Finola and their son, Anselm; Zachary and his wife Catherina; Matthew; Ayjah; Annelise; Charlie; Samantha; Danielle; and Lillian.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), an organization that Barb cared deeply about and supported directly with her time.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 2 at Immaculate Conception Church, 414 E. North Broadway Street, Columbus, OH.

Immediately following the Mass, all guests are invited to join the family in the church hall for a reception with light refreshments. A private family service will be held at the cemetery following the reception.
