Anna-Belle Margaret (Peggy) Griffin Hughes, age 81, passed away Sunday February 16, 2020 at her residence.
Peggy was born in California, graduated from Findlay High School in Findlay, Ohio and was a 55-year resident of Worthington, Ohio. After many years as a mechanical draftsman at Ohio Bell and W.E. Monks, Engineers, Peggy enjoyed a 20-year, award-winning career in residential real estate with HER and ReMax.
She was an avid, competitive bridge player and was active in several local bridge clubs where she played on a weekly basis.
For decades, Peggy was the hostess and center of legendary Thanksgiving celebrations at her home. These annual events were tangible demonstrations of her unconditional love for family and friends, and highlighted her unique gift for making everyone feel special.
She is survived by husband Walter Edward Hughes; children Paul Roberts Drake II (Martha), Diane Drake Haskins (Todd), Cheryl Drake Bater (Mark); eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Barbara Hughes; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Friends may call Saturday February 22, 2020 from 1:00 – 3:30 pm at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 4661 KENNY RD. where the Funeral Service will be at 3:30 p.m. with Msgr. John Cody officiating. Private family burial, Union Cemetery. Friends who wish may contribute in Peggy’s memory to Colony Cats and Dogs, 2740 Festival Lane, Dublin, OH 43017.
