Our beloved Alan Scott Pagel transitioned to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7th 2024 after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer's and complications from his life-long struggle with diabetes. He was 67 years old.
Scott was a good soul, a great brother, son, wonderful father, a fun uncle and a good friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Early on, Scott was passionate about music and learned to play the guitar. His enthusiasm for music morphed into collecting catalogs of many artists, but his favorite was Stevie Ray Vaughn.
As a boy he enjoyed playing baseball, sandlot football and tennis with the family. Scott would always greet you with a smile and had a nice thing to say. He had a funny sense of humor and was a fun guy to hang around.
Scott was very proud of his family and loved his boys; his son Seth, and his stepsons Marcus, Adam and Ben. Scott loved his dogs throughout the years and treated them as real members of the family; Spanky, Howie and Carmie.
Scott took his career very seriously, as a dedicated Registered Nurse who worked at Summa Hospital in Akron for many years. He also was a valued asset for The Traveling Nurses Dialysis Group towards the end of his career.
Preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Pagel and brother Thomas R. Pagel; he is survived by his mother, Carol Pagel and brothers Ted (Mary), Dan (Nannette), Tom-RIP (Paula) 6 nieces +, and former wife Lori Sherman
The Pagel family would like to extend a special thank you to Seth’s fiancé Kinoka Masumoto for the love and care provided to Scott throughout his illness, and Lora & Carrie for managing every detail of Scott’s care in Columbus. We love you and would be lost without you. Thank you to Crown Pointe Care Center and Bella Care Hospice in Columbus for providing their nurturing care.
