William F. McCaffrey

William F. McCaffrey age 92 of Dublin, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on April 30th 2018 after a long and, happy, fulfilled life. Born March 4th 1926 in Binghamton New York. Graduated from high School at the age of 15. Joined the Army Air Corps and served in WW2. Graduated from Syracuse University 1950. Returned to duty, US Air Force as a fighter pilot and served in Korea. He flew with the 94th Fighter Squadron as squadron commander. Returned as Commander of the Rickenbacker Air Force base Columbus Ohio in1953. Married Shirley and started McCaffrey Insurance Agency in 1957. He was preceded in death by mother Gladys McCaffrey and father John McCaffrey of NY. Survived by Wife of 61 wonderful years Shirley Nolan McCaffrey; daughter, Lynn McCaffrey; son, James (Linda) McCaffrey; granddaughters, Jessica & Kathryn McCaffrey; brother, Richard McCaffrey of NY; cousins, Bob Coyle of NY and Jim Coyle, of NY. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 22nd at St. Brigid Of Kildare Catholic Church 7179 Avery Road Dublin, Ohio 43017 at 11:00 am. His family will receive family and friends 10 - 11am.
