William “Bill” L. Berwanger, age 75, passed away peacefully at Kobacker House on December 8th after a lengthy battle with Parkinson Disease followed by a stroke. Born in Marion, Ohio son of the late Joseph and Clara (Manley) Berwanger and son-in-law to the late Arthur and Eleanore (Tobin) Bender. Survived by his wife of 52 years Lois Berwanger; children, William L. (Daphne) Berwanger, II of Sacramento, CA, Krista Anne Berwanger and Gretchen R. (Blase) Pignotti; grandchildren, Blase Michael Pignotti, Jr. and Reese Eleanore Pignotti; brother, Joseph M. (Marlene) Berwanger; brothers-in-law, James E. (Georgeanne) Bender, William A. (Lillian Link) Bender and Arthur C. (Kaye) Bender; many nieces and nephews. Bill was a great man of FAITH and integrity. Bill loved his family very, very much, especially his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. Bill always had a great fondness for sports (especially golf), Graeters and Skyline Chili. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 15th at St. Andrew Church Reed & McCoy Roads. In accordance with his wishes, Bill’s body was donated for Parkinson’s Research and a private interment will be held at a later date.
