Terrence “Terry” James Hughes, age 64, died suddenly at home on Saturday February 16, 2013. He was born on October 20, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Dr. & Mrs. Thomas M. Hughes, Sr.; he is also preceded in death by sister Mary E. (Hughes) Mitchell; brother John P. Hughes; infant sister Anne Hughes; father-in-law Wayne Wright and brother-in-law Larry “Barney” Jones.  Those who knew Terry well will remember his devotion to his family, Notre Dame and Lake Erie.  As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Terry proudly served his country from 1967-1971.  Following his service in the Marines, Terry graduated from Ohio University in 1976, where he met his wife and best friend, Paula Wright. For the last 15 years he was employed by the Franklin County Clerk of Courts.  Terry was the beloved husband for 34 years of Paula and proud father of children Erin (Brandon) Caldwell and Patrick. Perhaps his favorite life achievement was the joy of being a loving and fun grandfather, “T”, to his grandchildren Camden and Maya Caldwell.  Terry is also survived by his brothers and sisters Tom (Andrea), Kathy (Ed) Dowd, Trish (Mike) Eyerman, Tim (Pam), Kevin (Patty), Barb, Brian, Dan, Mimi (Larry) Frischen, Sean (Lisa); mother-in-law Juanita Wright; sister-in-law Carla Jones; uncle Dr. Patrick (Joann) Hughes; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.  Family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43215; Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 1559 Roxbury Rd. Columbus, OH 43212; Burial Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N. High St. Lewis Center, OH 43035.
