Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Mary (Sr. Eulalia) O'Hara died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. She was born in 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA and in 1960 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sr. Mary earned her degree from the College of St. Mary of the Springs, now Ohio Dominican University.
In 1980 she earned her Chaplaincy Certification from Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati. She taught schools in Michigan, Pennsylvania and in the Columbus diocese at Sacred Heart in Coshocton. From 1980-1984, she was a missionary in Chimbote, Peru. For twenty-five years, she ministered as Chaplain at the St. Mary Medical Center in Gary, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Margaret Davis O'Hara, her brothers, Michael and Martin. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Abulencia. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018, 4:45 PM at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, OH with the wake continuing until 7:00 p.m. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel on Tuesday, May 8 at 9:00 AM, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street.
