Sr. Corinne Staub, O.P.

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Corinne Staub died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on Thursday, August 9, 2018. She was born in 1928 in Detroit, MI and in 1948 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace.  She earned her degrees from the College of St. Mary of the Springs, now Ohio Dominican University and Notre Dame University.  She received licensure as Nursing Home Administrator and Retirement Housing Professional from Ohio State University, and certification as a trained facilitator from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She taught music in, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Steubenville, OH, and in the Columbus diocese in Lancaster, OH. She served on the Council of Religious for the Detroit Archdiocese. She ministered as Administrator of Mohun Health Care Center, and as Administrator of the Precious Blood Sisters’ Motherhouse in Dayton, OH. She was Chair of the Building Committee for the new Columbus Motherhouse and served as its first Administrator. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Collins Staub, her brothers, Charles and Donald and her sisters, Carol Degen and Sister Dolores Staub, O.P. She is survived by nieces and nephews.   A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus Ohio, Monday, August 13, 2018, 4:45 PM with the wake continuing until 7:00 PM. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Tuesday, August 14, 2018, 9:00 AM followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street.
