Ruth B. Whitlatch

Ruth B. Whitlatch, age 91 of Reynoldsburg, Ohio died on July 9, 2018.  She was born on May 19, 1927 to the late Cornelius and Lillian Franz in Columbus, Ohio.  She graduated from St. Mary of the Springs High School and upon graduation attended classes at The Ohio State University.  She was united in marriage to Harry E. Whitlatch on September 17, 1949.  After raising four children she returned to work at Bishop Hartley High School.  Through the years, they made many life-long friendships beginning in the south end of Columbus and then in the east end.   Upon retirement Ruth and Harry enjoyed extensive travel, and time with their children and grandchildren.  She is survived by her children, Dr. Michael (Jean) Whitlatch of Springboro, Ohio, Dr. Stephen (Amy) Whitlatch of Cincinnati, and Patricia (Doug) Williams of Pickerington;  grandchildren Wes (Amber) Whitlatch, Andrew (Amel) Whitlatch, Paul Whitlatch, Nicole (James) Young, Evan Williams, and Christina Williams; four great grandchildren Yesmina and Owen Whitlatch, James Young, and Walter Whitlatch; her brother George Franz and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Howard and William Franz, and her son David Whitlatch.  Family will receive friends on Friday, July 13 from 4-7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street where a Prayer Service will begin at 6:45 p.m. and then family and friends are invited to share memories.  Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at Seton Catholic Church, 600 Hill Road.  Internment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to the Wesley Ridge Charitable Care Fund, 2229 Taylor Park Drive, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
