Robert Kauffman

Robert E. Kauffman June 12, 2018. Born to Cecilia and Edward Kauffman in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 31, 1936. Married the former Rita Rittger on January 30, 1970. Survived by his wife, Rita, who remembers years of adventure, love and laughter. Graduated from St. Louis University and Washington University, St. Louis in Electric Engineering. His career included Collins Radio in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Holt Industries, Oconto, Wisconsin. Retired from ABB Automation Group (Formerly Industrial Nucleonics), Columbus, Ohio in 2000 after 27 years. Remembered fondly for his positive attitude regardless of the situation. Enjoyed the many people he and Rita met throughout their marriage of 48 years. Sports were an important part of his life. Whether it was skiing in the mountains with his friends or playing soccer he was having the time of his life. Thanks to our friends at Ohio Living Westminster Thurber and Goodale Landing for their love and support throughout the final years of his life. Special thanks to Dr. Kevin Schroeder who was with Bob from the beginning of his final journey until the end. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 386 Buttles Avenue Columbus, Ohio, 43215. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Bob’s memory to The Disadvantaged Youth Services Endowment Fund in care of The Catholic Diocese of Columbus, 257 E. Broad Columbus, OH 43215.
