Richard William (Dick) Lisska died May 18, 2018 in Marietta, Georgia, after a lengthy illness. He was born to Florence Wolfel Lisska and Joseph A. Lisska on December 23, 1945 in Columbus, Ohio. After attending local parochial schools and graduating from Aquinas College High School in 1963, he attained a metallurgy degree at Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, Ohio. Dick worked in the aluminum industry, studied architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology and earned a Masters of Business Administration at Georgia State University. For several decades he worked as a real estate asset manager and then as a tax consultant in later years. In 1977, Dick married Shirley Glass and enjoyed a loving and laugh filled life until her untimely death in 2011. Other than devotion to his wife, Shirley, he enjoyed off-shore fishing and opera and demonstrated mastery of complicated trim carpentry. He is predeceased by his parents and survived by his brothers, Anthony (Marianne) and Lawrence (Emily); sister-in-law, Nancy Glass; brother in- law, Franklin Glass; his long standing friend and care giver, Sebastian Burk; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held at Castellaw Funeral Home, Smyrna, Georgia on June 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Donations in his memory may be made to Cancer Survivors Group of St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta or to the Joseph and Florence Lisska Fund at Ohio Dominican University.
