Richard David Joseph Kramer, born January 30, 1924 and died June 15, 2017. Devout Roman Catholic, attending the Traditional Latin Mass. Loving husband, and involved father. Died peacefully surrounded by family and prepared for death by the Holy Sacraments of the Church. Preceded in death by beloved wife of 30 years Margaret (Hassey) Kramer. Faithful to his second wife Priscilla (Sherritt) Kramer for 34 years.
Graduate of Rosary High School, class of 1943. U. S. Army Veteran, 1943-1946 and served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. Honorably discharged with good conduct medal. Former superintendent of Property Rental Company, of Columbus. Member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church. Former member of St. Vincent de Paul Society. Avid bicyclist, ice skater, swimmer, craftsman, camper, box and birdhouse maker, artisan, home remodeling designer, church volunteer, sailor and deckhand, TOSRV biking veteran and volunteer, and favorite uncle.
Survived by 6 children Barbara (John) Srnec, John (Lori) Kramer, Sarah Kramer, Mary Andrea (David) Shumaker, Matthew Kramer, and Lucy (Douglas) Ritzenthaler; step children Bruce Duncanson, Laura Duncanson, and Annette Cohn; exchange student and long-time friend Claudia (Michael) Ulrich and children Sarah and Yens; lifelong friend from grade school Tom Shaw;
22 grandchildren John (Meredith) Srnec; Amanda Young; Elizabeth (Albert) Zambone; Owen (Nicole) Leimbach; Ruth (Timothy) Archer; Catherine (Mark) Shelton; Peter (Keilah) Shumaker; Lisa Shumaker; Kirstie (Matt) Williamson; Daniel Kramer; Matthew (Carrie) Kramer; Charles Kramer; Margaret Ritzenthaler; Amelia Ritzenthaler; Mary Ritzenthaler; Karl Ritzenthaler; Clare Ritzenthaler; Grace Ritzenthaler; Albert Ritzenthaler; Dorothy Ritzenthaler; Lillian Ritzenthaler; Theresa Ritzenthaler
11 great grandchildren Otis, Calvin, Nelson Leimbach; Grace, Stella Srnec; Dylan, Jennifer Kramer. Mia, Zella, Keiley, Rye Archer; many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and friends too numerous to count.
Friends may call Sunday 2-5 p.m. at EGAN – RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street . The Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be prayed for the repose of his soul at 3:00 p.m.
Solemn High Requiem Mass will be at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 584 W. Broad St. Monday 10:30 a.m. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
