Patricia Landholt Obituary

Patricia R. (nee Holliger) Landholt passed away September 17, 2018 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born Patricia Rosilee Holliger on January 27, 1927 in Springfield, IL. Patsy grew up in numerous cities throughout Illinois, and at 6 years old she welcomed a younger brother, Tommy. She graduated from St. Mary’s Elementary and Marquette High School in Alton, IL and Webster College in St. Louis Mo. While at a college tea dance she met her future husband Gerry Landholt. After college she moved to Chicago and worked at the Chicago Tribune in the advertising department. Following her June 30, 1951 wedding at St. Henry Church in Chicago and a honeymoon in The Dells of Wisconsin, the happy couple moved to Dayton OH and started a family of 1 daughter and 4 sons. In 1954 the family moved to Columbus, OH eventually settling in Upper Arlington where she would reside the rest of her life. She and Gerry were part of the founding group of parishioners during the establishment of St. Andrew Catholic Church where she was a regular attendee. Raising 5 children, born over a 12 year period, was a full time job which kept Patsy very young at heart. All of her children graduated from St. Andrew Elementary School and Bishop Watterson High School, enjoying her freshly packed lunches on a daily basis. When not following her weekly homemaker schedule or attending school related functions, she was an avid gardener, flower arranger and collector of antiques. She also enjoyed movies, television and her own pillow. In her later years she also happily maintained the family grounds planting her flowers, mulching and mowing her quarter acre. She was passionate about her time with her 11 grandchildren Tim, Katie (Mike Steffen), Mary, Alison, Sean, Elizabeth (Steve Lucas), Christina, Gerald III/Jake (Brianne), Cecilia, Paul, Julia and her 7 great-grandchildren, Jillian and Chelsea Steffen; Dominic, Charlotte and Alex Lucas; Gerald IV/Kade and Samuel Landholt; . Patricia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerry, her brother Tom and sister-in-law Yolanda, her brothers-in-law Howard, Robert and sister-in-law Nancy Landholt; as well as her loving grandparents, numerous aunts and uncles, and her parents George and Reeda (Eibeck) Holliger. She is survived by her daughter Julie Ann, sons, Thomas (Kim), Patrick (Loretta), Gregory (Teri) and Gerald Jr. (Gloria); as well as her brother-in-law Thomas and sister-in-law Rose Landholt, numerous other relatives and friends including Cindy Landholt, as well as, countless nieces and nephews from New Jersey, St. Louis and Texas which she thoroughly adored and enjoyed visiting and laughing it up with from time to time. Special thanks to all her wonderful friends, extended family and special caregivers at Our Family Home, Always Best Care, Heartland Hospice and Senior Matters who looked after her, and to her daughter who was constantly by her side and cared for her until she departed on the express to heaven.
