Mary Ann Bontley, age 72, died peacefully in her sleep at home on Sunday, July 16, 2017.  She was born on August 1, 1944 in Youngstown to the late John and Anna Conway; graduated in 1962 from Notre Dame High School in Portsmouth, Oh; graduated in 1965 from St. Francis School of Nursing in Columbus, Oh.  Mary Ann worked as a transport nurse at Children’s Hospital for more than 30 years.  She was an avid bicyclist, and an active member and volunteer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jack Bontley. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Bontley and son John (Christy) Bontley; her grandchildren Jessica (Joe Hobbs) Hope, David Jack “DJ” Hope, Dana Clauer, Jack Bontley and Allison Bontley; brother John (Kathy) Conway; numerous cousins and friends.  Friends may call Thursday from 4-6:30 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street where a Rosary will begin at 6:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 893 Hamlet Street.  Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
