Maria de los Angeles Barroso passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 10th due to complications from asthma.
Best known as Muchy to friends and family she is survived by her mother Maida, sisters Paula and Lourdes (Ernesto) and her children Wade (DeHavlyn), Nathan (Laura), Sara (Kollin), grandchildren Leilani, Zeke, Amia, Antonio, nieces Lauren (Pierre), Eva, Valentina, great-nephews Dereon, Mateo and great niece Maya as well as many aunts and a host of cousins. Preceded in death by her nephew and godson Spencer and her father Cirilo.
Muchy was born in Cuba on February 27th, 1966 and came to America in 1970. A lifelong resident of the eastside Muchy is a proud Eastmoor High School Warrior who has remained surrounded by her junior high and high school friends. She was deeply devoted to her family especially her children and grandchildren. She was proud of her Cuban heritage and all parts of her culture including dancing, playing dominoes and listening to Cuban music. She was the life of every party and a natural born storyteller. She knew no strangers and had a generous spirit.
Muchy was a registered organ donor and would be proud that her legacy includes giving the gift of life to three organ recipients. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her but we take comfort in thinking of her in heaven wearing her favorite flipflops underneath a palm tree playing dominoes with an ice cold one.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 12th from 6-8pm at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, 10:00am February 13th at Holy Name Church, 154 E Patterson Ave, Columbus, OH 43202.
