Kathryn “Kate” Jane Lynch O’Donnel passed away May 18 at her home in Plantation, Florida with her daughter Colleen by her side.
 
A native of Athens, Pennsylvania, Kate was the daughter of Christine and Aloysius Lynch born August 21, 1942. She graduated from Marywood School in Evanston, IL; and from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.
 
Kate worked as an elementary school teacher before her marriage to George O’Donnel and during the first years of their marriage. Kate spent much of her adult life in Columbus, Ohio, where she raised four children, hosted regular Friday night bridge parties, and was famous among her friends and loved ones for her key lime pie and Texas sheet cake. She also enjoyed bowling. 
 
Kate is survived by her four children, Colleen, of Plantation; George, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Sheilah, of Chevy Chase, MD; and Bridget, of New Albany; and  by her five grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, Sarah, Anna, and Elizabeth.
 
Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Tuesday May 23rd, at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. Broad St.  Burial will be held immediately following at Maplewood Cemetery 4585 Reynoldsburg-New Albany Road, New Albany, Ohio
