Joseph F. Conte, Sr., age 94, passed away at home on October 25, 2017.  He was born on February 5, 1923 in Lackawanna, NY to the late Sabato and Amelia Conte.  He graduated from the University of Alabama where he met his wife, Jeanne Larner.  He was a WWII Veteran having served in the United States Navy.  They moved to Columbus in the 1950s where they raised their 5 children. He was an electrical engineer and worked at North American Aviation.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Jeanne Conte; son, Rick Conte and son-in-law Kevin Lake. He is survived by his son, Joe (Suong) Conte, Jr. and grandchildren; Nghiem (Trang), Tan (Tran) and Ha and great-granchildren, Bao, Khoa and Anh; daughter, Susan Lake and grandson, Bryce; daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Strous and grandchildren, Jacob, Jennalee and Jonathan; son, John (Mari) Conte and grandchildren, Sophia, Nicholas and Ella; daughter-in-law, Sharon and granddaughter, Elyse (Nate) O’Neill . Friends may call Saturday, October 28 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Catharine Church, 500 South Gould Road where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
